Methodology

How we source, verify, and price

Where the specs come from

We pull specifications directly from manufacturer product pages and documentation wherever possible. That's marked as "manufacturer_spec" in our source records. When a manufacturer doesn't publish a figure (heater wattage, exact electrical draw, realistic capacity), we leave that field blank rather than estimate a number and present it as fact. A blank field means we don't know yet, not that the spec doesn't matter.

Pricing is checked regularly, not once

Every product carries a last-checked date next to its price. Manufacturer and retailer pricing changes (sales, discontinuations, MSRP increases), so a price we verified six months ago isn't treated the same as one we verified this week. If you see a price that looks stale, that date is exactly why: check it before you assume it's current, and let us know if it's wrong.

What "verified" actually means

Each product carries a verification status and a confidence level. "Verified" means we confirmed the core specs against a manufacturer source as of the listed date. "Needs review" means something about the listing is incomplete, contradictory, or came from a source we consider weaker than a manufacturer's own documentation (a retailer listing, for instance). We'd rather flag uncertainty visibly than quietly smooth it over.

When sources disagree

Manufacturer sites, retailers, and independent reviewers sometimes publish different numbers for the same product. We've seen it happen on pricing in particular. When that happens, we use the manufacturer's own figure by default and add a visible data-quality note on the product page explaining the discrepancy, rather than silently picking whichever number seemed right.

The "Real Project Cost" figure is ours, not the manufacturer's

Product pages show an estimated installed cost: product price plus typical electrical, foundation, and assembly costs for that category. That figure is Home Recovery Rooms' own calculated estimate based on typical ranges, clearly labeled as such and shown separately from the verified spec table. It is not a quote, and it is never presented as manufacturer data.

Editorial independence

Product rankings, "best for" notes and comparison verdicts are written from the specs, not from any commercial relationship. Where we do have a dealer, affiliate, or dropship relationship with a brand, it's disclosed on that product's page. See Work With Us for what those relationships look like. We don't currently have any active partnerships to disclose.

Corrections and error reports

This catalog is maintained by a small team and grows in verified batches rather than being scraped in bulk, which means mistakes are possible and corrections are welcome. If you're a manufacturer, retailer, or homeowner and see something inaccurate, reach out through the Work With Us page and we'll investigate and correct it.
